  • Monday 11 September 2023 Well done Lily - European Champion! Year 9 student Lily win GOLD in Slovenia to become European champion.
  • Thursday 24 August 2023 Congratulations to our GCSE students Congratulations to our Year 11 students who, despite the disruption they’ve experienced as a result of the COVID pandemic, have achieved some amazing GCSE outcomes today! Their results are a real testament to their resilience and hard work as well as to the support from their parents and the dedication of our staff who’ve worked so hard to minimise the impact of the pandemic and to make sure that everyone received the help that they needed with their learning.
  • Thursday 17 August 2023 CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR YEAR 13 STUDENTS ON THEIR A LEVEL SUCCESSES Congratulations to our Year 13 cohort of 334 students who have achieved some fantastic results today. We are so pleased that this cohort, whose education has been so severely impacted by the pandemic and who didn’t have the benefit of taking their GCSES have done so well with their A levels. In addition to taking our own Year 11 students into our sixth form, we took a further 60 or so students who weren’t able to access the sixth form provision in their own schools. Our 2023 results have validated this decision to give as many students as possible a chance to succeed with an A level programme.
  • Wednesday 14 June 2023 Global Girl Media Summer Academy at Graveney Free, digital film media and documentary skills workshop for women aged 14-22. The workshops will take place at Graveney and run from 24th July – 11 August.
  • Wednesday 8 March 2023 OFSTED INSPECTION OUTCOME - GRAVENEY IS OUTSTANDING! We are delighted to announce that we have achieved an Outstanding status in each of the six areas defined by the Ofsted Framework.
  • Monday 6 March 2023 World Book Day 2023 This week students took part in a range of World Book Day celebrations during English lessons. These included reading and writing activities, quizzes, a book token design competition and a charity book sale at lunchtime.

  • Thursday 15 December 2022 Sixth Form RS students visit Buddhist temple We had a fabulous trip to the Buddhist temple in Wimbledon today, with our Year 12 and Year 13 RS students. The students were an absolute credit to the school, behaving impeccably. They were respectful in the temple and during the talk, with probing and thoughtful questions to ask at the end.
  • Thursday 15 December 2022 Oxford University Computing Competition - Outstanding Results! We are proud to announce some phenomenal results for Graveney students in the Oxford University Computing Competition.
  • Thursday 15 December 2022 Anthropology Workshop with UCL Visitors from University College London came in to deliver an anthropology workshop to our sixth form students.
  • Wednesday 7 December 2022 National Art Competition Winner We are so proud of Harini in 9G who has won a national art competition run by Lions International. The aim of the competition is to give children everywhere the chance to express their visions of peace and inspire the world through art and creativity. The judges felt that the work encapsulated the theme: Lead With Compassion, with her piece “World leaders who have promoted equality and compassion across the world.”
  • Tuesday 6 December 2022 Supporting Wandsworth Families - Foodbank Appeal Ms Ibe and the BlueFlash Team along with the other KS3 Heads of Year and Form Tutors, have been collecting food and goods for our local Foodbank as part of our annual ‘Reverse Advent’.
  • Thursday 20 October 2022 Women in STEM event 19 October On 19 October, 80 of our Year 10, 11 and 12 students attended our second Women in STEM event held at Graveney school; hosted by our Scientist in Residence, Professor Emma Morris.
  • Thursday 8 September 2022 GREAT SUCCESSES FOR GRAVENEY GCSE STUDENTS! Once again we are delighted to report that our Year 11 students have achieved an outstanding set of results in their GCSEs despite the adversity they have faced in the previous three years. 88% of our students achieved 5+GCSEs including English and Maths, and an astonishing 52% of all grades were 7–9. These results show the consistent excellence achieved by our students across all their subjects and are a testimony to the hard work that they have all put in.
  • Thursday 18 August 2022 GREAT SUCCESSES FOR GRAVENEY A LEVEL STUDENTS! Once again we are delighted to report that Graveney School Sixth Form students have achieved an outstanding set of results at A Level despite the adversity they have faced in the previous three years. 36% of all grades were at A* or A; 62% at A* to B and 81% at A* to C representing a fantastic achievement. This wonderful performance represents the achievements of 426 students in Year 13, in one of biggest school sixth forms in the country. An impressive 91 students- over a fifth of the cohort – achieved three or more A or A* grades.
  • Thursday 21 July 2022 Pi Wars 2022 - Graveney Team Triumph! A few weekends ago Graveney School Robotics Club competed in PiWars, an international robotics competition. The team were overall winners in the Young - Experienced Category, triumphing in all seven challenges!
  • Tuesday 12 July 2022 Swop-It-Up Clothes Swap The average person in the UK throws away 3.1 kg of clothes a year, and an estimated 92,000,000,000 kg of clothes are sent to landfill worldwide every year.
  • Monday 11 July 2022 South Asian Heritage Month South Asian Heritage Month begins on July 18th so as it largely falls in the holidayswe decided we would like to mark it, as a school, a little earlier.
  • Thursday 30 June 2022 Recycled laptops reach Hackday Prize Final 10 The 2022 Hackaday Prize is focused on taking care of the planet. The theme of our second challenge round, “Reduce, Recycle, Revamp” is all about tailoring your projects to make use of existing resources and keeping material out of the landfill rather than contributing to it
  • Thursday 23 June 2022 Wimbledon Bookfest Young Writers Competition Students from all key stages took part in the Wimbledon Bookfest Young Writers Competition. They were asked to create a poem or story using the idea of The Tree as their starting point, then the best from each age group were entered into the competition.

  • Wednesday 15 June 2022 Refugee Week 2022 We will be celebrating Refugee Week in school from Wednesday 15 June to Thursday 23 June 2022. We will be exploring the theme of ‘Healing’.
  • Monday 13 June 2022 Year 10 Velodrome Trip Just before half term, 18 of our Year 10 GCSE PE students were treated to a track cycling taster session in Herne Hill Velodrome. Little did our very sporty students know that track cycling would involve fast bikes without any brakes! A bit apprehensive at the start, all of our students gained in confidence very quickly due to the excellent coaches who guided our students safely through the course.
