Graveney School students' success at international robotics competition
This summer students from Graveney School Robotics Club competed against teams from around the world in PIWars: a robotics competition based around the Raspberry Pi computer.
The competition took place online, with each team submitting videos for each challenge.
17 teams took part, including ones from India, Australia and Puerto Rico.
Covid restrictions and isolation periods meant that there were added challenges to overcome and because of this we had only one main team member - Daniel Blanco Miralles (year 10), with the help of ex-student Sujith Silva.
They took 1st place in the Technical Merit category, 1st place in the Obstacle Course and went on to rank 3rd place overall!
This is a truly outstanding achievement, especially considering this was the first time entering the competition.
