Recycled laptops reach Hackday Prize Final 10

The 2022 Hackaday Prize is focused on taking care of the planet. The theme of our second challenge round, “Reduce, Recycle, Revamp” is all about tailoring your projects to make use of existing resources and keeping material out of the landfill rather than contributing to it

In exciting news our ingenious technology technician Mr Lambeth has just been named as one of the finalists for the Hackaday Prize!  His colourful X-PCs, currently in use in the technology classrooms, upcycle old laptops to make new Linux based PCs. It was no easy task! Find out about the process.

As well as gaining a huge profile - the CAD files being open source - the project is also in with a chance to win $50,000 top prize!
