Graveney School

introducing team technofire!

Five students from year 8 have entered PiWars, an international robotics competition held each year at Cambridge University.

The theme for the competition this year is “Disaster Zone” and the students must tackle challenges such as “The Zombie Apocalypse” and “The Temple of Doom”.
Some of the challenges are remote controlled and some are autonomous.

The club meet most lunchtimes and have been progressing well; working mainly independently they have soldered up the motors and assembled their robot. They have also completed the coding for the Lava Palava (a line following challenge) and tested it successfully. The students are off to a great start and their coding and electronics skills are coming along in leaps and bounds! They have even created their own blog about it. More about the PiWars competition.

Well done and Good Luck to Ariel, Ikram, Ollie, Siththaram and Tiago and thanks go to Mr Lambeth, Technology Technician for his support.
